Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) has recently been placed among The Best Performing African DFIs in the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI). CEDA received an A rating in the Third Peer Review of the Association of African Development Finance Institutions where 20 other institutions submitted their assessments for consideration.

The AADFI rating system is designed to assist Development Finance Institutions who have membership in AADFI to rate themselves in the three areas of Governance Guidelines, Financial Prudential Standards and Operational Guidelines. Of the 20 DFI’s that had submitted assessments in the three ratings criteria, CEDA scored an aggregate of 84 % and was ranked an aggregate of “A”. This award means that CEDA has produced the best results in its Corporate Governance, Financial Prudence an operational standards, proving that CEDA has implemented a robust strategy in being a leading development financier.

In acknowledging the award, the CEDA Chief Executive Officer Mr Thabo Thamane said the results would not have been possible without the commitment of staff in ensuring that the organisation lives the strategy. “Such kinds of ratings are not easily achieved and it is great joy for me and the entire management team, Board and Shareholder”, he added.

CEDA will officially receive the award next year (2014) at the AADFI’s General Assembly Meeting which is to be held in Kigali, Rwanda.
