The Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) recently participated at the Sandveldt Ranchers Association Field Day where farmers thronged the stall to enquire about assistance in the agricultural sector such as cattle and small-stock farming and Ipelege. This event presents a networking opportunity for the farmers with service providers such as CEDA.
CEDA has vowed to play a vital role in the agricultural sector as it remains a critical component in the diversification of the economy and employment creation. This is reflected with over P45 million that has been invested in agricultural projects countrywide. With 292 application approved for the 2008/2009 financial year, 89 projects are agricultural projects representing 30 percent of the total approvals.
Amongst those who visited the stall were the Vice President - Lt Gen Mompati Merafhe and Mrs Merafhe, Dr Gaositwe Chiepe, Bangwato Regent – Kgosi Sediegeng Kgamane, The Agricultural Hub Coordinator - Niel Fitt, The District Commissioner - Chabongwa Lesetedi, Kweneng Landboard Secretary - Bareng Malatsi (who is also YFF Investment Committee Chairman), Kgalagadi Land board Secretary - Neo Mothobi, Sandveldt Ranchers Association Chairman - Mosalagae Sesupeng, and other dignitaries to hear first hand about CEDA role in the diversification of the economy through agriculture.
CEDA’s aggressive participation at these events is part of the Agency’s continuing efforts aimed at sensitizing the public on products and services it offers. The Field Day gave CEDA an opportunity to mingle with potential clients and also support existing clientele through provision of after funding services like mentoring and avenues for furher expansion.
