COMMEMORATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD
Girls Run CEDA Today- (Sonny Serite:11.10.2023)
Annually, the 11th of October is observed as the International Day of the Girl Child and this year CEDA is participating in the inaugural "Take a Girl to Work" Initiative to commemorate the day: an initiative put forward by UNICEF BOTSWANA. The International Day of the Girl CHILD (IDGC) is a global platform to advocate for the full spectrum of girls’ rights.
To commemorate this special day, CEDA today adopted four girls from different schools to spend the day interacting and learning about the different departments and their roles within CEDA. The girls were treated to a luncheon with CEDA management (majority of CEDA management are women). The ladies shared insights, motivation, enlightenment and encouragement with the girls. This collaboration with UNICEF underscores CEDA’s commitment to fostering gender equality, empowering young women, and creating a brighter, more inclusive future.
By welcoming girls from local schools and communities into our workplace for a day, we can ignite their curiosity, broaden their horizons, and demonstrate the vast array of opportunities available to them.
