CEDA Awarded Best Performing Parastatal at the Ministry of Investment Trade and Industry Ministerial Awards

The Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) scooped the award for Best Performing Parastatal for its 4^th consecutive year at the Ministry of Investment Trade and Industry Awards Ceremony (MITI) held at Travel Lodge in Gaborone on the 20^th May 2016. The Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Thabo Thamane was there present to receive the Award on behalf of CEDA.

The Best Performing Parastatal Award is awarded to the Parastatal that has met or even exceeded most of its targets in the 2015/16 financial year. “CEDA has always done well against its Ministerial Counterparts”, said the Assistant Minister of Investment Trade and Industry when handing over the award to the CEO.

The Minister of Investment Trade and Industry, Honourable Vincent T Seretse commended all performers for the efforts they have put into their work over the year. He went on to applaud and recognise the parastatals that fall under MITI and said that it is particularly gratifying for him to be the Minister of such an elite group of leaders. The Captains of the Parastatals have been exemplary in Leadership and have ensured that the Ministry is equally recognised as one of the Best Performing Ministries in government.

The Ministry also recognised employees and various departments that had performed well over the Financial year 2015/16. In his keynote address, the Minister of Investment Trade and Industry Honourable Vincent T. Seretse emphasised the importance of the new identity the Ministry has gone he said “Investment has become an important and integral mandate of the Ministry and it was only fitting to add to the Ministry, it is important that we facilitate and bring more investment to the country and be recognised as a key player worldwide”. The Minister went on to acknowledge and commend the entire Ministry for teamwork as the Ministry would not achieve its mandate without the concerted efforts. The Minister urged everybody to continue with the good work and always be exemplary employees to both Ministry and Government as a whole.

CEDA sponsored the Prize for the Overall Best Performer in the Ministry of Investment Trade and Industry. The recipient won an all-expenses paid trip to Kasane.
