CEDA TAKES ITS PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO BUSINESS BOTSWANA

NORTHERN TRADE FAIR

In line with its mandate and objectives of fostering citizen entrepreneurship and empowerment and encouraging the development of competitive and sustainable citizen enterprises, the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) participated in the 22nd edition of the BOCCIM Northern Trade Fair now named Business Botswana Northern Trade Fair from the 25th to 29th May 2016.

CEDA has always seen the Northern Trade Fair as a key opportunity to increase its visibility and sensitize Batswana particularly in the northern region on its mandate, products and services. The fair was held under the theme “Connecting Ideas; Creating Opportunities” which aided the Agency in giving its funded clients the opportunity to display their products and services and also network with potential customers. The Agency offered 6 of its successful businesses in Palapye, Selibe-Phikwe and Francistown the opportunity to network with customers free of charge under the CEDA banner. The 2016 Business Botswana Northern Trade Fair equally gave multitudes of private and public sector entities from across all sectors the opportunity to display their services and also create new relationships which if nurtured will culminate into viable business.

At the Official Opening of the Fair the newly appointed CEO of Business Botswana, Dr Raciuos Moatshe said that the Northern Trade Fair serves as a market place for industry professionals and market players in the different sectors to share their innovation, ideas and business initiatives for promoting creative content and services. For his part, Mr. Paul Taylor of Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited encouraged more businesses to participate in the fair as “Entrepreneurs with resources and time can leverage and discover ways to grow by connecting with the right people at the fair”.

At the Prize Giving Ceremony CEDA scooped First Prize in the Banking and Finance sector showing the effort it makes in empowering Batswana. The Agency has always taken great pride in making more Batswana aware of the services it provides as more people have taken a great interest in entrepreneurship and growing the economy.
