01 Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) Product

The ART product revolutionizes cattle breeding by offering advanced solutions to enhance herd genetics and productivity.

CEDA Livestock Sector Funding

CEDA funds cattle breeding, small stock (goats and sheep), poultry farming (broilers and layers), piggery, dairy farming, and feed-lots. Each project must adhere to industry standards, such as minimum land requirements, access to reliable water and electricity, and compliance with the Livestock and Meat Industries Act. Specialized conditions apply to certain projects, such as proximity to markets for dairy farms and agreements with the Botswana Meat Commission for feed-lots. Through these initiatives, CEDA aims to strengthen Botswana’s livestock industry, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.

Crop Sector Funding

CEDA funds key subsectors, including horticulture and rain-fed agriculture, each with specific requirements. Horticulture projects must be developed on leased farms with a minimum of 0.5 hectares under net shade, a reliable water yield, and a focus on high-value crops. Rain-fed agriculture covers seasonal field crops like grains and fodder, with viability assessed based on projected production output. By providing financial support, CEDA ensures that Botswana’s agricultural sector remains resilient and sustainable.
