Reference: CEDA CEO Attends Joint CEO Forum in Kyrenia North Cyprus

The CEDA Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Thabo Thamane recently attended the Joint CEO Forum on the 23rd to 25th October 2018 in Kyrenia, North of Cyprus.
The Joint CEO Forum consists of Development Finance Associations namely AADFI, ADFIAP, ADFIMI and ALIDE which falls under the auspices of the World Federation of Development Finance Institutions (WFDFI). The 2018 version of the CEO Forum focused on discussions related to “DFI’s and the Green Economy”.
The national and regional Development Finance Institutions have in their own ways contributed to the funding effort, provision of access to finance and technical assistance to projects in the field of green economy, among others, renewable energy, green buildings, water and waste management systems.
The CEO in representing the Agency had the opportunity to engage with other delegates whilst also sharing and learning on best practice, challenges, innovations and learnings on financing green economy. The CEO also shared thoughts on how CEDA as a DFI intends to apply contemporary issues and adopt trends in global development finance environment. Forums of this magnitude provide a great platform for networking and partnership in investment promotion and mobilization of investment capital.
This year the Joint CEO’s Forum was hosted by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Development Bank (TRNC Development Bank). In 2016 the Joint CEO’s Forum was held in Gaborone Botswana and was hosted by CEDA.
