CEDA OFFICIALLY HANDS OVER TWO (2) ROOMED HOUSE IN PITSANE VILLAGE

On the 16th of May 2018, the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency represented by the Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Andrew Madeswi officially handed over a 2 roomed house to Ms. Sereiwa of Pitsane Village. This house forms part of the Agency’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives which are aimed at uplifting people from various communities around the country. The house was built and completed in a period of 9 weeks.

Speaking at the ceremony Mr. Madeswi highlighted CEDA’s overall contribution towards funding businesses in the region and how Mabogo-Dinku can help potential entrepreneurs. Mr. Madeswi went on to also explain that CEDA Staff also played their part in contributing towards this project as they volunteered their time to painting, clearing and planting trees in the yard.

As the keynote speaker the Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, Honourable Eric Molale thanked and applauded CEDA for enriching Ms Sereiwa’s life and contributing towards giving her a safe and secure home. The Minister went on to appeal to corporates and individuals to help those that are less fortunate. He went on to say that the Presidential Housing Appeal has now been dubbed the National Housing Appeal.

For her part, Ms. Sereiwa thanked both CEDA and the Southern District Council for blessing her with a new and fully furnished home. She explained that the past few years have been extremely difficult as she has been staying in a house that was extremely run down. “Last year, (2017) was a particularly difficult year as the floods of Dineo really damaged the walls and roofing of my house, I had to cover the holes of my roof with shopping bags which did not really help”.

In further extending their gesture of handing over the house to Ms. Sereiwa, the Agency further contributed furniture such as queen sized bed, wardrobe, kitchen unit, 3 plate stove, couch and carpet.
